ive had this problem in my s40 and found it to be the common issue of moisture in the door electrical connectors. Its an easy fix.. .open up by sliding the cover upwards which will allow you to prise the connectors aparts. I then spray a good dose of WD40 in the connectors and reseal. avenger09123. Oh that's easy. Long thin screwdriver in the holes in the backside of the steering wheel will push on the spring and you pull gently on the airbag on that same side. Hold the tension if you can and put the screwdriver in the other side and do the other spring. Unplug both airbag plugs and set it aside.
